Let Troop 710 serve you lunch during the Pinewood Derby!

We will be selling Dominos pizza, drinks, and desserts at the Pinewood Derby on Saturday!

With the Pinewood Derby fast approaching, I wanted to address a few questions that a few people have had.

• We are going to try harder to make sure everyone know the proper rules and enforce them. The official rules are posted on the website at http://www.pack710.org/node/1200.

The R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl and the SELA Boy Scouts of America are combining their efforts to provide a memorable experience for all area scouts. This year we will be recognizing the 100th year anniversary of Scouting at the Game!!! The R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl features the Champion of the SunBelt Conference against a representative from Conference USA. The game will take place on Sunday Night, December 20th , 2009 at 7:30 pm in the Louisiana Superdome. All area Boy Scouts will not only be invited to attend the game but will also have an opportunity to participate in pre-game pageantry on the field prior to, and during, the national anthem. All participating troops will be recognized throughout the game on the stadium and message board systems. A special seating area will be designated for Boy Scouts and their families. All uniformed Boy Scouts and their leaders will be admitted into the stadium free while parents of scouts will have the opportunity to purchase $10 discounted tickets and sit with their kids during the nationally televised game.

The Webelos of Pack 710 will be leading the flag ceremony once again on Veterans Day.

With the start of the school year also comes the annual Pack 710 Round Up to recruit new scouts to the Pack. If you are a parent of a perspective new scout, please click on the “2009 Round Up” link to the left for further information for the Round Up Event set for September 9th at 7:00 P.M. in the Activity Center.

It seems as quickly as it started, the summer is quickly coming to an end and the start of school is right around the corner. But along with the start of school comes the annual Raingutter Regatta. So it is time to start having your scouts get their boat ready. You can get your boat kit either at The Scout Shop in Council Headquarters or at Perret's Army & Outdoor Store at 2532 Williams Blvd.
